Dr. Prewett was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Loyola University in New Orleans, LA where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and graduated magna cum laude. She then returned to Houston to attend medical school at University of Texas in Houston. She was first introduced to Mobile and the surrounding area when she did a year long internship in internal medicine at the University of South Alabama . She returned to Texas to complete a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
 

Following the completion of her training, she returned to Alabama as quickly as possible. Her husband is a physician at the Mobile Infirmary Emergency room and they reside on the Eastern Shore.
 

Dr. Prewett sees patients at Vision Partners’ Eastern Shore office where she see a variety of general ophthalmology patients. Her practice includes anything from routine eye exams and contact lens fitting to the management of cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
