Amy Mize Prewett was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
- She attended Loyola University in New Orleans where she received her BA in Psychology. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola in 1994.
- She then returned to Houston and attended University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she received her medical degree in 1998.
- She did her internal medicine internship at University of South Alabama and then returned to University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio to complete her residency. During her training she spent three years at the University Hospital, Brady Green Clinic and Audie L Murphy VAMC.
- In 2002, she retuned to the Mobile area and joined Vision Partners.
- Amy is a general ophthalmologist who treats glaucoma, diabetes, cataracts, and macular degeneration among other eye diseases.
- She performs routine eye exams including contact lens fittings. She treats children as young as four years old up to adult.
- Amy is a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology and has published numerous scientific papers and journal articles.
- Amy enjoys spending time with her two children and running in Fairhope where she resides.
